The King’s Kitchen of Caldwell County had a successful fundraiser and food drive on Thursday to support its Summer Feeding Program.
The program desperately needed donations this year after the non-profit organization exhausted all its funds last year due to rising food costs.
LeeAnn Gilkey, a representative of the non-profit organization, announced that they raised several thousand dollars, which will cover the food costs for the children on their list and potentially more.

click to download audioIf you would like to volunteer, Gilkey says you can come to Southside Baptist Church at 2:00 next Tuesday afternoon to help distribute the food.

click to download audioWPKY teamed up with King’s Kitchen for a live broadcast from Food Giant in Princeton on Thursday from 10 AM to noon to help collect food items and monetary donations. This was followed by another live broadcast from 1 PM to 5 PM at the radio station, where additional food and monetary donations were collected.
Gilkey expressed that it’s amazing to see how the community comes together to help and how God works through it all.
