Police Officer and Princeton Woman Injured in Wednesday Collision

A local police officer and a Princeton woman were taken to the hospital following a two-vehicle wreck at the intersection of West Market and North Seminary streets on Wednesday afternoon.

Caldwell County Sheriff Don Weedman reports that the collision occurred shortly before 2:30 when 41-year-old Detective Trent Fox of the Princeton Police Department activated his emergency lights as he attempted to catch and stop a suspect vehicle on West Market Street. As he approached the intersection of North Seminary Street, the traffic signal changed to red and Fox continued through the intersection when his patrol car was struck in the passenger side by a U.S. Postal Service van driven by 45-year old Lora Haberlock who was traveling southbound on North Seminary Street.

According to Sheriff Weedman, Fox and Haberlock were both transported to Caldwell Medical Center where they were treated for minor injuries and released.

Chief Deputy Stacey Blackburn Is investigating the collision.
