Caldwell County Fiscal Court approved a resolution for County Priority Project Program funding Tuesday morning, which will be allocated for the paving of a few roads in the county.
Judge-Executive Kota Young explained that the county will receive $594,000 from the state.

In other new business, magistrates approved a resolution for a Help America Vote Act (HAVA) grant application for up to $8,300. County Clerk Jennifer Hale explained that the funds would be used to replace some voting booths.
click to download audioMagistrates also approved a $1 million amendment to the Fiscal Year 2025 budget, which Young described as a housekeeping item related to the tornado damage from the Memorial Day weekend.
click to download audioIn other action, magistrates unanimously approved declaring the Caldwell County Animal Shelter van as surplus property.
During the reports, Jailer Willie Harper announced that the produce stand for the community garden is now in place.
click to download audioMagistrates also received a brief update from AmeriPro EMS Director Joe Rose. The new emergency service provider began operations in Caldwell County on July 1st. Rose expressed his gratitude to the Fiscal Court and the community for their support, noting that the transition had been smooth.
