Darlene Henry, age 81, of Princeton, passed away peacefully at her home surrounded by family at 4:00 am on Tuesday, July 9, 2024.
Darlene was born at home in Caldwell County, KY on July 15, 1942, to Henry Wesley Dockery and Mary Louise Young Phelps Dockery. Darlene is survived by daughters Alana (Timmy) Lear of Fredonia, Shelia Stermer of Princeton, and Lisa Darnell of Austin, TX; son, Jake (Brandy) Henry of Dripping Springs, TX; son-in-law, Steve Greteman of Cosby, TN. Darlene is also survived by eight grandchildren, ten great-grandchildren and one great-great grandchild; sister, Janell Sherill of Fredonia and several nieces and nephews.
In addition to her parents, Darlene was preceded in death by her husband, Jack Henry; daughter, Tanya Greteman; brothers, Donald Phelps, Henry “Hank” Dockery, Roland Dockery, Robert Dockery and William Dockery; sisters, Kathryn Ladd, Ruth Schmidt, Katherine Blake, Martha Ezell and Jean Harvey.
Darlene and her husband, Jack, spent many years in the memorial monument business helping families honor their loved ones and examples of their beautiful grave markers and memorials can be seen in Kentucky, Texas, Kansas and Louisiana. Prior to retiring to Princeton, Darlene worked at Tiny Town Self Storage in Clarksville, TN, where she made many friendships with soldiers at Fort Campbell who stored their belongings there. She often spoke of those brave men and women and the stories they would share with her.
Darlene was a childhood member of Beulah Hill Baptist Church where her father would sometimes preach and most recently attended Creswell Baptist Church.
Private graveside services will be held.
