Jean Castleberry, age 91, of Hopkins County, formerly of Princeton, passed away on July 25, 2024, at Baptist Health Deaconess Hospital in Madisonville.
Born on December 12, 1932, in Princeton, Kentucky, to her late parents, Herschel and Helen Lester Creekmur. She worked as an office administrator for an insurance company and was a member of Immanuel Baptist Church in Madisonville. She enjoyed the competition and camaraderie of playing bingo, dominos and various card games with her group of friends and family. Above all, Jean reveled in the role of grandmother and great-grandmother, nurturing each family member with love and attention that only she could give.
She is survived by her two daughters, Susan (Anthony) Stallins of Bowling Green, and Cheryl (Mike) Mattingly of Pleasanton, CA; her son, Tim (Rhonda) Castleberry of Madisonville; two brothers, George (Mida) Creekmur of Evansville, IN, and Lester Creekmur of Elizabethtown; nine grandchildren – Bradley (Stephanie) Stallins, Beth (Eric) Stroud, Katie Mattingly, Quinn (Adam) Papini, Will Mattingly, Ryan (Tara) Castleberry, Taryn Buntin, Kylie Tate, and Colton Duff; twelve great-grandchildren; several nieces and nephews.
In addition to her parents, Jean was preceded in death by her beloved husband, Chester Lois Castleberry, Jr.; her sisters, Josephine Ramsey and Linda Long; and her brother, Jim Creekmur.
Funeral services will be held at 2:00 p.m. on Monday, July 29, 2024, at Morgan’s Funeral Home in Princeton with Bro. Scott Heltsley officiating. Burial will follow in Cedar Hill Cemetery.
Visitation will be held from 11:00 a.m. until service time on Monday, July 29, 2024, at Morgan’s Funeral Home.
