Caldwell County Sheriff Don Weedman provided an update on the acquisition of two new police vehicles during Thursday morning’s fiscal court meeting.
According to Sheriff Weedman, the total cost for the two new 2023 vehicles exceeds $84,000, with a savings of approximately $1,400 per vehicle.
District 3 Magistrate Brent Stallins inquired whether a 4-wheel drive pickup truck would be more cost-effective. Sheriff Weedman responded that while the trucks are cheaper, he believes they are a safety concern.
District 2 Magistrate Jeff Boone shared with Sheriff Weedman that a local businessman he recently spoke with had high praise for his deputies, commending them on their conduct in various situations.
