The Caldwell County Schools’ Alumni Association has announced that its annual reunion and meeting will take place on Saturday, September 7.
Rick Blackburn from the Alumni Association explained that the organization’s name was changed last year from Butler-Caldwell County Alumni Association and Friends to the current name to get the younger generation involved.
According to Blackburn, the Association is 32 years old, but reunions have only been held for the past 22 years to help preserve the Butler building and everything around it. He mentioned that all of the money generated by the organization from grants and programs they host goes back into the Butler property but they have now included all the schools in the county.
Carolyn Traum, another member of the Alumni Association, mentioned that the organization has played a key role in preserving the building and memorabilia of all the schools in Caldwell County.

click to download audioBlackburn and Traum said they are collecting donated pictures and memorabilia for the event. If you would like to contribute items for the room, they will gladly accept and work to preserve them.
The reunion and meeting will take place at the historic Butler High School in downtown Princeton. Coffee will be available in the break room by the front entrance from 8:30 to 9:30 AM. Registration will be held in the hallway from 8:30 to 9:50 AM, followed by the annual business meeting and program in the auditorium at 10:00 AM.
