Officials with the United Way of the Coalfield recently announced the success surrounding the Fourth Annual Golf Scramble, which was held August 23 at Madisonville Country Club.
Executive Director Ashley Alexander said this effort was the largest yet, raising more than $18,000 to support ongoing measures in the “Year of Impact” campaign.
Behind the overwhelming support, Alexander said there had to be an expansion of two tee times, as local businesses, individuals and teams gathered for a great cause.
The presenting sponsor was GE Aerospace, while meal sponsors Atmos Energy and Coal Pick Distillery also provided general contributions. The beverage sponsor was First United Bank, and 16 of the 18 holes also had financial backing.
Funds raised from this scramble will directly benefit the United Way’s mission to improve lives in Hopkins, Muhlenberg and Caldwell counties — with plans of attacking some of the community’s most pressing needs.
