Rex Cassidy Bennett, age 84, of Eddyville, passed away September 20, 2024.
Rex was born August 25, 1940 to the late A.M. “Dink” and Mary Louise Cassidy Bennett. He loved UK Basketball, his border collies and was a dedicated member of Hebron Baptist Church. He was a hardworking and dedicated life long farmer. His greatest passion was caring for his family.
He is survived by his loving wife of 64 years, Maxine “Twinky” Bennett of Eddyville; daughters, Sherry (Doug) Higgins of Hanson, Amy (Tyson) Martin of Eddyville; son. Brent Bennett; sister, Barbara Padgett of Kuttawa; grandchildren, Abigail (Hunter) Humphrey and Cass (Kennidy) Bennett; several nieces and nephews.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his grandson, Zachary Turner Higgins; sisters, Carolyn Harris and Ann Dorroh; brothers, Jim Bennett and Harold “Teenie” Bennett.
Visitation will be held from 12:00 pm until 2:00 pm Thursday, September 26, 2024 at Hebron Baptist Church in Eddyville.
Funeral services will be held at 2:00 pm Thursday, September 26, 2024 at Hebron Baptist Church in Eddyville with Bro. Jeff Boone officiating. Burial will follow at Hebron Baptist Church Cemetery.
