A Dawson Springs Junior/Senior High School teacher has been named as one of twelve professional educators selected to participate in the Kentucky Association for Career and Technical Education’s (KACTE) Leadership Fellows Program.
According to a release, Sheila Hodges, a family and consumer science teacher at Dawson Springs, will join the program, which is overseen by KACTE in collaboration with the Kentucky Department of Education’s Office of Career and Technical Education.
KACTE officials state that the educators in the 2024-25 KACTE Leadership Fellows Program represent several of Kentucky’s career pathways, are geographically diverse and are members of the KACTE. Hodges joins educators from Shelby, Meade, Jefferson, Fayette, Garrard, Union, Warren, and Harlan counties.
The program offers these educators the opportunity to become more engaged in policy-making at both local and state levels. Participants will receive training on how to further develop leaders within the workplace.
Hodges lives in Princeton with her husband, Jerry. She is currently serving her third term on the consumer advisory council. She holds a Bachelor of Science degree in Family and Consumer Sciences and a Master’s degree in Leadership Dynamics, both from Western Kentucky University.
