The Lyon County Sheriff’s Office is asking for the public’s help in identifying a woman in connection to counterfeit money.

According to Sheriff Brent White, Deputy Josh Travis started an investigation on Sunday afternoon, September 8, when an unidentified white woman attempted to purchase merchandise at the Dollar General on KY 293 with two counterfeit, one hundred dollar bills. He said an alert clerk at the store detected the fake money and stopped the transaction. Sheriff White said when the clerk told the customer he had to contact law enforcement, the woman left the store in an unknown make and model white SUV.

If anyone has information concerning the identity of the female, you are asked to call the Lyon County Sheriff’s Office at (270) 388-2311.
