The region is under a marginal risk for severe storms on Halloween Day, as a cold front moves through and brings near-seasonal temperatures for the weekend.

NWS Paducah Meteorologist Andy Lesage says a line of storms will move into western Kentucky in the early afternoon and evening. The strongest storms may bring damaging wind gusts, lightning, and brief heavy downpours.

Lesage adds that the best chance for precipitation across the Pennyrile region will be from 3:00 to 10:00 PM. When the precipitation begins, temperatures should remain in the lower 70s, but before Midnight, they will fall into the upper 50s. Overnight lows in the upper 40s are expected.

Friday’s high will struggle to reach 70 under mostly sunny skies. The weekend features sunshine on Saturday and highs around 75. Rain is possible again beginning Sunday with highs around 80.
