Caldwell Judge Executive Announces Major Grants and Public Hearing

At Tuesday morning’s Caldwell County Fiscal Court meeting, Judge-Executive Kota Young shared exciting news about grants awarded to the county and announced an upcoming public hearing concerning the proposed discontinuance of 21 roads from the county’s road system.

Judge Young announced they received a grant exceeding $190,000 to purchase new mobile radios.

click to download audioIn addition, he mentioned the recent awarding of a $4 million grant for a Build-Ready site in the Industrial Park.

Judge Young noted that the county is a small part of a grant awarded by the Delta Regional Authority to Lyon County, aimed at ensuring water reliability throughout the region.

click to download audioIn new business, magistrates unanimously approved the appointment of viewers to assess several roads under consideration for discontinuance from the county’s road system.

In other action, magistrates approved appointing viewers to evaluate the discontinuance of a portion of DR Adams Road.
