A child was flown to a Nashville hospital following a wreck on Dawson Road Thursday morning.
Caldwell County Sheriff Don Weedman reported that deputies responded to First Mile Hill, just east of Princeton, where an investigation revealed that 31-year-old Kara Alsobrook of Princeton was traveling westbound when she lost control of her vehicle on the rain-slicked road. He said the car then struck a guardrail, crossed the centerline, and hit an earth embankment before coming to rest in the eastbound ditch.
According to Sheriff Weedman, Alsobrook’s six-year-old son was extricated from the vehicle by Princeton Fire and Rescue. The child was then transported to Caldwell Medical Center by AmeriPro EMS before being flown to Vanderbilt Pediatric in Nashville, Tennessee. He said Alsobrook suffered minor injuries but refused medical treatment.
Chief Deputy Stacy Blackburn was assisted at the scene by the Princeton Police Department and the Kentucky Division of Highways.
The investigation into the accident is ongoing.
