Princeton City Council Updated on Street Request, Approves Burial Contract

The Princeton City Council received an update on a proposed street acceptance request and approved a one-year extension for a burial site preparation contract at Monday night’s meeting.

During unfinished business, Mayor Brock Thomas informed the Council that they are moving forward with the street acceptance request for MicBeth Drive, submitted by the owner of Pagliai’s Pizza.

click to download audioIn new business, the Council unanimously agreed to extend the burial preparation contract with Stalion Contracting for another year.

In other new business, the Council decided to scrap a generator and rebid a topper after receiving no bids for either item.

click to download audioDuring the mayor’s comments, Thomas reiterated Caldwell County Judge-Executive Kota Young’s remarks from the recent fiscal court meeting regarding a $4 million grant awarded for the Industrial Development Park.

click to download audioAdditionally, he highlighted a Homeland Security grant just north of $190,000 for purchasing mobile radios for emergency responders, emphasizing that their ongoing collaboration with the county and other agencies has been effective in securing such grants. Mayor Thomas said they plan to continue these partnerships in hopes of obtaining more funding in the future.
