Owen C. Morse, age 82 of Princeton, passed away on November 18, 2024, at Caldwell Medical Center in Princeton, Kentucky. Born the son of the late Durwood & Mary Lou Morse, on April 26, 1942, in Dalton, Kentucky, Owen lived a life filled with love, service, and dedication to his family and work.
As a respected Caldwell County Road Supervisor and skilled bricklayer, Owen’s contributions to his community were marked by his commitment to quality and service. His work not only reflected his technical skills but also his desire to improve the lives of those around him. Owen enjoyed hobbies such as hunting and fishing, and he found joy in watching programs like Andy Griffith, Judge Judy, and Family Feud. He was known for his enthusiastic spirit and had a knack for bringing laughter and joy to those around him. He was a member of Sugar Creek Baptist Church in Princeton.
Funeral services will be 1:00 p.m. Saturday, November 23, 2024 at Goodman Funeral Home located at 1032 West Main St. Princeton, KY 42445, with Bro. Greg Rushing and Bro. Jeff Boone officiating. Burial will follow in Sugar Creek Baptist Church Cemetery. Visitation will be Saturday, November 23, 2024 at the funeral home from 11:00 a.m. until the funeral hour.
Owen was a loving husband, father, and grandfather, regarded by many for his warmth and kindness. His memory will forever be etched in the hearts of his family, which includes his sons; James “Jimmy” Owen Morse of Cadiz, Owen Clay Morse Jr. (Scarlett) of Princeton, and Larry Clay Morse (Courtney) of Princeton. Owen also leaves behind his daughters; Bonita Rose Moore of Princeton, Judy Kay Casper (Dave) of Michigan, Betty Flowers (Jeff) of Caldwell County, and Linda Louise Goodaker (Joe) of Caldwell County. He is further survived by his brother, Bobby Joe Morse (Lisa) of Caldwell County, his sisters; Linda Miller of Madisonville, and Sharon Wright of Caldwell County. Owen will be remembered fondly by his grandchildren; Sarah Jo Goodaker, Lesley Landwehr, Elizabeth Morse, Jessica Graham, Clifton Flowers, Danielle Hampton, David Allen Casper, Bradley Casper, Michael Moore, Tiffany O’Dell, Cody Morse, Colton Morse, Jake Morse, Maddie Watson; and by his 13 great-grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by his beloved wife, Shirley Morse, along with his siblings: Shelby Morse, James Walton Morse, Ricky Alan Morse, Thelma Purty, Doris Hughes and his grandson Michael Moore. Their memory will surely be honored in the hearts of those who knew them.
Owen C. Morse’s legacy of love and commitment to his family and community will continue to inspire all who were fortunate enough to know him. He will be greatly missed.
