A wreck in Lyon County claimed the life of a Princeton man when his car collided with a box truck Friday evening.
According to Kentucky State Police, a preliminary investigation showed that a box truck, driven by 24-year-old Thomas Flood from Longview, Washington, exited westbound Interstate 24 toward KY 293 and entered the intersection in the path of a northbound car on KY 293 driven by 54-year-old Jerrod Easley. Police said Easley’s car struck the side of the box truck.
Police reported that Easley was pronounced dead at the scene, while Flood was transported to a local hospital with non-life-threatening injuries.
Kentucky State Police Post 1 was assisted on the scene by the Kentucky Transportation Cabinet, Lyon County Sheriff’s Office, Lyon County EMS, Lyon County Coroner, Eddyville Police Department, and Eddyville Fire Department.
The investigation into the collision is ongoing.
