Last week, the Caldwell County Grand Jury issued a series of indictments involving charges of receiving stolen property and illegal weapons possession.

Charles Luther Jackson, also known as Charles Luke Jackson, of Princeton, was indicted on charges of receiving stolen property – a firearm, knowingly exploiting an adult over $300, and second-degree criminal possession of a forged instrument.

Jackson was taken into custody on September 5 following an investigation by Princeton Police detectives into a report of stolen firearms from a residence in the 300 block of Dollar Street, which police said occurred while the homeowner was away receiving medical treatment.

Police reported an investigation revealed Jackson had stolen firearms in his possession. During the investigation, police said Jackson had attempted to transfer ownership of the victim’s property into his own name. Detectives executed a search warrant at a residence in the 400 block of Cooper Circle, where they reportedly found the property’s deed signed over to Jackson. However, police said the victim claimed he never authorized such an agreement.

A true bill was returned on Austin Hillard of Princeton on a single count of receiving stolen property under $10,000.

Hillard was arrested on October 8 following a tip from the Trigg County Sheriff’s Department to Princeton Police regarding a suspected stolen motorcycle in Princeton. Officers reported that they arrived at Linton Way Apartments and discovered Hillard in the parking lot, working on the motorcycle that had been reported stolen.

Taylor Jackson of Princeton was indicted on charges of possession of a firearm by a convicted felon and a misdemeanor offense of no operator’s license.

The charges are from October 8 when the Caldwell County Sheriff’s Office was sent to KY 902 East for a possible theft of firearms. Jackson was taken into custody after deputies spotted the described vehicle and following an investigation.
