Diane Southward, age 58, of Paducah, KY, passed away on Tuesday, December 10, 2024 at her home.
Diane was born on October 7, 1966, in Princeton, KY to the late Samuel O’Dell and Nellie Bell Sims Thacker. Diane graduated from Caldwell County High School where she enjoyed playing basketball and softball. Diane worked for 17 years at Dippin’ Dots in Paducah where she was a Team Lead. She loved her family dearly and cherished time spent with them, especially her grandchildren. Diane was a member of Shepherd Street Baptist Church in Princeton.
Survivors include her sons, Jamil Wilkerson of Paducah and Jahiem Southward of Paducah; two sisters, Carolyn Hall of Clarksville and Regina Wadlington of Princeton; three brothers, Chris Thacker of Hopkinsville, Ronnie Sims of New Jersey and Tony Thacker of Indianapolis, IN; three grandchildren, Maliyah Brown, Jaiden Forrest and Jadayea Henderson; aunt, Dolly Bumpus of Hopkinsville and uncle, Clarence Head of Hopkinsville; several nieces and nephews.
In addition to her parents, Diane is preceded in death by one sister. Janice “Renee” Thacker; four brothers, Bobby Joe Thacker, Michael Thacker, Houston Thacker, and Samuel “Junior” Thacker.
Visitation for Diane Southward will be held on Monday, December 23, 202,4 from 10:00 AM to 12:00 PM at Morgan’s Funeral Home.
Funeral services will follow at Noon at Morgan’s Funeral Home with Rev. Tammy Acree and Rev. Matt Wilson officiating. Burial will follow in Kentucky Veterans Cemetery West in Hopkinsville at 2:00 PM.
Memorial contributions may be made in Diane’s memory to help with her funeral expenses.
