Norma Kay Farmer, passed away peacefully Tuesday, January 14, 2024, leaving a legacy of love and cherished memories. Born on November 18, 1936, in Caldwell County, Kay’s life was a testament to the strength and warmth of her spirit.
Kay’s journey began as the daughter of John T. George and Bessie Marie Scott George. Her early years were shared with her sister, Marilu Stevens, who preceded her in death. Kay’s path led her to the love of her life, Charles Ray Farmer, with whom she built a life filled with joy until his passing.
A devoted mother, Kay is survived by her two sons, Randy Farmer of Princeton and Bruce (Kim) Farmer of Princeton and her sister, Ann George of Princeton. Her love extended to her granddaughter, Katherine Grace (John) of Paducah, and she was blessed to see the joy of her three great-grandchildren, Brooks Dean Wisdom, Melody Grace Wisdom, and Elliott Wyatt Wisdom.
Professionally, Kay served as the deputy PVA Administrator for Caldwell County, a role in which she demonstrated her dedication and commitment to her community.
Kay was a woman of faith, embracing the teachings of the Baptist church. Her hands were rarely still, as she loved to make needlepoint pillows, sharing her creations with others and spreading joy through her craft. Her artistic touch brought beauty into the lives of her family and friends, and her pillows remain cherished keepsakes.
She had a love for bridge. A serious Duplicate Bridge player, she met with the same group every Tuesday, forging friendships and sharing laughter over the card table.
Among Kay’s many talents was her renowned Pepper Jelly, a treat that became synonymous with her name. Her Pepper Jelly will be remembered fondly by all who had the pleasure of tasting it.
Norma Kay Farmer’s life was marked by her gentle nature and kind heart. She navigated life’s challenges with grace and always found ways to contribute positively to her community and family. Her memory will live on in the hearts of those she touched.
Visitation for Norma Kay Farmer will be held Friday, January 17, 2025, at Morgan’s Funeral Home from 4:00 pm to 8:00 pm.
Funeral Services for Norma Kay Farmer will be held Saturday, January 18, 2025, at Morgan’s Funeral Home at 11:00 am with Bro. Dane Hodges officiating.
Committal service to follow in Cedar Hill Cemetery in Princeton.
