Donald Russell Jr., age 64 of Fredonia, passed away peacefully at his home on February 5, 2025 surrounded by his family. Born on August 22, 1960, in Princeton, Donald was a man whose generosity and loving nature left a mark on the hearts of those who knew him.
He is survived by his loving wife of 42 years, Dawn Etta Russell of Fredonia. Together, they raised a family of three remarkable sons, Devin Russell, Dillon (Jessica) Russell, and Daniel (Olivia) Russell, all of Fredonia. His life was further enriched by the laughter and love of his six grandchildren, Hadley, Maggie, Gatlin, Avery, Bo Wayne, and Jaxon Russell; his mother, Judith Kaye Russell of Princeton; his two sisters, Gina (Greg) Beck of Fredonia, Tia (Mark) Berton of Princeton, and his brother Ron Wayne (Le Ann) Russell of Princeton.
Donald’s life was preceded by the passing of his father, Donald Lane Russell Sr.
A self-employed man of many talents, he grew up attending Donaldson Baptist Church and was a dedicated “backseat” member of Fredonia First Baptist Church and an avid coffee drinker at the Fredonia store. His giving spirit and heart of gold were evident in all his endeavors, and he was always ready to lend a helping hand. But this greatest joy in life was his six grandchildren and spending time with them.
A visitation for Donald Russell Jr. will be held Friday February 7, 2025 at Morgan’s Funeral Home from 12:00pm to 2:30pm.
Funeral service for Donald Russell Jr. will be Friday February 7, 2025 at 2:30pm at Morgan’s Funeral Home with Bro. Presley Lamm officiating. Burial will follow in Fredonia Cemetery in Fredonia, KY.
