Tara Ann Parker, 51, of Kuttawa, Kentucky, passed away on Sunday, February 9, 2025, in Nashville, Tennessee.
She was born on December 23, 1973, in Clarksville, Tennessee to her late parents, Robert Dean “Bob” and Diana Lynne Schenk. Tara was loving and kind in everything she did, from taking care of her family to her career in nursing. She worked over 22 years as a Registered Nurse for Baptist Health Paducah, most recently in their Outpatient Surgery department. Over the years, she was acknowledged for her work as the Nurse of the Year and Charge Nurse of the Year. During the COVID epidemic, Tara willingly volunteered to work above and beyond the required amount to serve those hospitalized. Her kindness and love showed through her dedication to FaceTime and sending pictures to her patient’s family members during the times they were not allowed to come into the hospital to visit. And she took special care for those from Lyon County when their loved ones entered her care.
Outside of work, she loved living life on the lake or at the ocean. She was an avid Pittsburgh Steelers fan and enjoyed the thrill of line dancing. Tara was also a member of Twin Lakes Worship Center in Marshall County. Above all, she cherished her time loving her family as a wife, mother, sister and “GiGi.”
Tara is survived by her high school sweetheart and husband of 29 years, Bobby Parker; her daughter, Marisa (Justin) Weathers of Calvert City; her son, Warren Parker of Kuttawa; her sister, Melissa (Kevin) Miller of Eddyville; her brothers, Tim Schenk of Kuttawa, Josh (Jennifer) Schenk of Eddyville; her grandson, Parker Edward Weathers; along with several nieces and nephews.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her sister, Roberta Leslie.
Memorial services will be held at 2:00 p.m. on Saturday, February 15, 2025, at Lakeland Funeral Home with Bro. Jeremy Short and Bro. Kyle Franklin officiating.
Memorial visitation will be held from 11:00 a.m. until service time on Saturday, February 15, 2025, at Lakeland Funeral Home.
