Shirley Crisp Ramey, 89, formerly of Eddyville, passed away on Saturday, February 8, 2025, in Sweeny, Texas.
Shirley was born Between the Rivers on May 19, 1935, to Elmer Crisp and Joyce Wall. She married Hale H. Ramey on April 2, 1951. Shirley was active in the early days of new Eddyville in the Women’s Club as well as First Baptist Church where she helped in WMU and Acteens. She enjoyed antiques and flea markets, but her passion was her church and especially her family. She worked at Buchanon Interiors and the Smart Shop in Eddyville after her kids got older.
She is survived by her children, Paul (Helen) Ramey of Sweeny, Texas; Cindy (Frank) Patton of Athens, Alabama; and Mark (Saundra) Ramey of Moss Point, Mississippi; grandchildren, Joy (Ryan) Cagle of Huntsville, Alabama; Jared (Amber) Ramey of Sweeny, Texas; Brett (Illiana) Ramey of McAllen, Texas; Jennifer (Wes) Cumbest of Moss Point, Mississippi; and Clint (Amy) Ramey of Little Rock, Arkansas; great-grandchildren, Cole, Ben, and Meg Cagle, Easton, Cora, Nolan, and Bodie Ramey, and June, Miles, and Rhett Cumbest.
In addition to her parents, she is preceded in death by her husband, Hale Ramey and her brother Leon Crisp.
Graveside services will be held at Rolling Hills Cemetery in Eddyville Kentucky at 3:00 p.m. on Friday, February 14, 2025. Any flowers or questions can be forwarded to Dunn’s Funeral Home in Eddyville.
