The Caldwell County Grand Jury returned multiple indictments from its February session, including on charges from drug possession to assault, with several cases involving meth and firearms.
A true bill was returned on Jeremy McWaters, whose address is unknown, on charges of possession of a handgun by a convicted felon, carrying a concealed weapon by a prior deadly weapon felony offender, and first-degree possession of a controlled substance – methamphetamine.
The charges stem from a December 14, 2024, drug investigation by Princeton Police, during which McWaters, who the officer said was a known felon, was seen with a gun near Shepardson and Harrison streets. After he was detained, police said a search of his camper revealed marijuana and brass knuckles. At the jail, McWaters is accused of dropping a baggie of suspected meth.
The grand jury indicted Dustin Cliff Baker, of Princeton, on a single charge of first-degree possession of a controlled substance – methamphetamine.
Baker was arrested on November 4, 2024, by Princeton Police after officers responded to reports of an individual on a roof or in an attic on Cantrell Drive. Upon investigation, police said they found Baker under the influence of intoxicants and meth his pocket.
A true bill was returned on Joseph Slaton, of Princeton, on a charge of cultivation of marijuana – five or more plants from November 5, 2024. The case was investigated by the Kentucky State Police Special Operations Section.
Troy Floyd, of Princeton, was indicted on charges of fourth-degree assault, second-degree strangulation, and first-degree unlawful imprisonment.
The charges are from an investigation conducted by the Princeton Police Department on October 13, 2024.
Samantha Turner, of Princeton, was indicted on a charge of possession of a controlled substance – meth from February 26, 2024, when Princeton Police responded to a fire on Varmintrace Road and conducted an investigation.
