Last week was the first-ever Kentucky Agriculture Education Week declared by Governor Andy Beshear.
The Caldwell County FFA Chapter took advantage of the opportunity to educate young students about agriculture and also give insight to the high school members about the agriculture industry locally and the chance to see what careers are available to them.
Advisor Magen Woods shared they began the week by visiting the primary school.
Woods noted the FFA also spent some time at the preschool reading to the students about agriculture.
She added that the high school students went to the elementary school and taught about taking care of the soil.
Woods explained the freshman agriculture students were able to host a Kentucky State FFA Officer who shared with them about agriculture and the FFA program.
Woods hopes that the Agriculture Education Week will become an annual event.
