The Caldwell County Conservation District annual tree giveaway has been postponed to Thursday morning April 10th beginning at 8:30 at the office on Traylor Street in Princeton.
The event had to be rescheduled due to recent flooding preventing the delivery of the trees. This event draws a huge crowd each year as the Conservation District purchases these trees and gives them away to members of the community. This program gives local citizens a way to replace any trees that have been lost due to tornado, flood, or any reason for the loss of trees. Representatives of the District will be available to answer any questions the public might have about planting and caring for the trees.
Arthur Dunn shared there will be over 800 trees available and what kinds of trees will be there.

The Caldwell County High School Agriculture Department partners with the Conservation District each year to build and provide birdhouses to give away. This gives the students a chance to acquire hands-on experience while helping the community members. Most of the students have never built a project like birdhouses and found it to be a learning experience that they can take with them after leaving the classroom.
Emma Goodwin had never built a house before.
