Cadiz Fire Leaves Two Children Dead, Mother Charged

Kentucky State Police have charged a Cadiz woman with felony endangerment after a Tuesday residential fire left her two small children dead.
Keyona Bingham, 30, was arrested hours after the fire at the Jefferson Street residence of a relative. State police said the bodies of two juveniles were found inside the residence during their investigation. Their ages were not released by KSP.  Autopsies on the children will be conducted Wednesday.
State police said Bingham left her two children unattended inside the Jefferson Street home. While she was away, a fire started at the residence. Detective Sgt. Brett Miller said at the scene that a search warrant was obtained to further their investigation. Police and the state fire marshal’s office are continuing to investigate to determine the fire’s origin.
Members of the Cadiz, East Golden Pond, and Montgomery Fire Departments were called to the scene around 1:15 Tuesday.
Bingham was charged with two counts of First-Degree Wanton Endangerment, which is a Class D Felony, and lodged in the Christian County Jail.
