Officials with the George Coon Public Library are reminding the community that while services are a bit limited right now due to the ongoing coronavirus pandemic the library is still available to meet their needs.
Library Director Nichelle Faughn says the library, which reopened its doors to in-person traffic June 15th, is currently operating on shortened hours and staff are following several guidelines and regulations in order to keep both themselves and the public safe.
She adds because of the limited capacity within the building staff are asking patrons to browse and chose books in a timely manner in order to make sure everyone who wishes to visit the library can do so and notes computer usage will also be limited to appointment only.
Faughn states the use of personal laptops or tablets is currently prohibited within the library but explains patrons can still utilize wifi services.
She also notes drive-thru services will continue for the foreseeable future to allow the library to serve the public with as much ease as possible.
While the Glenn Martin Genealogy Library is not currently open to in-person walk-in traffic Faughn says research can be scheduled by appointment. For more information, or if you would like to schedule computer time, research time, or check out a book through the drive-thru, you can contact the George Coon Public Library at 270-365-2884.
