Caldwell County Reports 13 New COVID Cases Since Friday

As the number of coronavirus cases continues to decline across the region and state, the Pennyrile District Health Department announced 47 new positive COVID-19 cases were confirmed around its five-county district from Friday to Monday.
According to the health department, 13 of those new cases are in Caldwell County. All of the cases are recovering at home and include 7 females and 6 males ranging in age from 11 to 74 with 4 of the cases 18 and under.
Caldwell County Government posted on its social media page Monday that the updated vaccination numbers include 6,493, or 50.94%, of the county’s total population have received a COVID-19 vaccination. Of those, officials reported 6,275 or 63% of the people who are 18 years or older have been vaccinated, while 2,245 or 82.57% are 65 or older.
