Local residents need to be aware tornado sirens will be activated Wednesday morning as part of the statewide tornado drill.
Caldwell County Emergency Management Director Joey McCaslin tells the WPKY News Edge the tornado sirens in Princeton and Fredonia will be activated at 9:07 Wednesday morning. He says the tornado siren at the fire station will not be activated because it has a manual activation which means it has a crank. He says all other tornado sirens in the City will be active for about one minute.
This week is National “Severe Weather Preparedness” week which was kicked off by the National Weather Service in Paducah Monday morning in Dawson Springs, one of the hardest-hit areas from the December 10th EF-4 tornado that ripped across portions of western Kentucky.
