Princeton Man Among Trio Charged In Madisonville Robbery

A Princeton man along with his father and uncle were arrested in connection to a robbery in Madisonville Thursday afternoon.
Madisonville Police report dispatch received a complaint of an assault that had occurred at 348 Dempsey Street around 1:45 p.m. When officers arrived on the scene they met with the victim, 25-year old Andrew Ferguson, who they said appeared to have multiple injuries. Ferguson reportedly told officers that the subjects inside the home had beat him, hit him multiple times with a hammer, and stole his dog and personal belongings. Police say the victim’s injuries were consistent with his statements.
The report says the officers detained the three subjects inside the home identified as 24-year old Jacob McKinney of Princeton, Howard McKinney of Madisonville, and Jeffery McKinney of Louisville. After interviews, officers say they learned Ferguson was lured to the house by Jacob McKinney, and then his father, Jeffery McKinney, assaulted Ferguson for several minutes. Jeffery’s brother, Howard McKinney, then reportedly assaulted and beat Ferguson with a hammer and other blunt objects inside the residence. Police say the trio then refused to let the victim leave for several minutes and took his dog and belongings.

All three men were taken into custody and charged with first-degree robbery. Police report both Howard and Jeffery McKinney had several arrest warrants. In addition, police say Jeffery McKinney was found in possession of meth at the time of his arrest.
All three subjects were lodged in the Hopkins County Detention Center.
