“A Little bit Country”- Charles Alvin Lisanby Gallery-Princeton Art Guild

“A Little bit Country”, a spectacular watercolor show by Guild House member Robin Seidell, opened today in our Charles Alvin Lisanby Gallery at the Princeton Art Guild. This show will be highlighted September 5th – October 27th, 2023. Here’s a little bit from the Artist:
 
“A Little bit Country”
 
In the third grade I was a day dreamer. A doodler. Then I drew. Instead of books I used a pencil to go other places. I know it to be fact as my report cards always had a written statement from the teacher. “Robin is a daydreamer and needs to focus better” I am still this way today.
 
As I grew older, I wanted to add color to these places. I tried oils and acrylics, but patience was not on my side. I wanted a quicker finished product the way I envisioned in my mind. Watercolors…Yes! I found satisfaction.
 
Mostly self-taught. I will say my high school art teacher spent 4 years telling me I needed to paint something besides barns, lighthouses and covered bridges. I believe in my junior year he finally realized that was what I enjoyed and I was going to keep painting them. I loved that teacher, Mr. Poston, for having the patience to deal with me and letting me paint what I truly loved.
 
Years later I would take trips and see a barn and pull the car over and take photos. I am still that way today. Some of my art is from my mind and some from photos.
 
My husband, David, and I have lived in quite a few different states over the years. Our last journey was from Arizona to Western Kentucky. We moved here in 2017 and love the friendly people we meet while owning our own small business called “The Running Rooster” in Eddyville, Ky. This year is our 5th anniversary of selling a variety of items from wood crafts, t-shirts, fudge, jams and artwork. Living life one paint stroke at a time, who could ask for anything more. ~Robin R. An Artist Reception to honor Robin Seidell and her work will be held this Saturday, September 9th, 2023, from 1:00pm – 2:30pm at the Guild House. This is a free come and go casual event. You can stop in for 5 minutes or stay with us the whole time. Light refreshments will be available. Come meet the Artist and view this spectacular show! So, while you’re out visiting the street fair – don’t forget to stop in at the Gallery!
