In honor of School Board Recognition Month, Caldwell County school board members were acknowledged during Tuesday night’s meeting.
Following the recognition, they proceeded to approve the draft budget for Fiscal Year 2024.
Superintendent Jeremy Roach expressed his gratitude to the school board members Kim Cook, board chair Tm Kennaday, Anna Ray, Stacey Brantley, as well as Stephanie Feagan who was absent from the meeting, and the student board member Corbin Nichols.

During the action items, the board unanimously approved the draft budget for Fiscal Year 2024, which outlined revenue and expenses amounting to over $21.3 million. Superintendent Roach clarified that this budget followed a conservative approach, aligning with the budgets from the previous years.

click to download audioIn addition, the Caldwell Regional Career Center was included as one of the venues for the board meetings. The monthly meetings will still take place at 6 pm on the third Monday.
In other action, the board approved an offer of assistance from the School Facilities Construction Commission (SFCC) in the amount of approximately $25,281 after Roach explained this money would go toward the school district’s Building Fund.

They also received the annual school Nutrition Report presented by Food Service Director Aaron McClung, along with updates provided on the Caldwell Regional Career Center, transportation, and ParentSquare.
