The Princeton Optimist and Kiwanis Clubs are gearing up for their upcoming radio auction, scheduled to take place next week at the Princeton First Baptist Christian Life Center.
Roy Gene Rogers of the Optimist Club is requesting $100 donations from the community to help fund scholarships totaling approximately $9,000 for the upcoming school year.
click to download audioHe mentioned that there will also be a donation jar at the radio auction, along with a Radio Auction Hero Banner to honor former Optimist Club member Melba McGowan and past contributors Troy Vinson and Tom Ward.
click to download audioTo help raise funds for the scholarship program in honor of the Radio Auction Heroes, Rogers announced that they will hold a special auction for a collector’s edition classic car donated by Larry Wynn, the organizer of the local cruise-in and car show club.
click to download audioHe stated that the winner of the collector’s edition classic car would be drawn on the final night of the radio auction.
click to download audioIn addition to monetary donations for the scholarships, Rogers mentioned that they are still accepting donated items to be auctioned off. All funds raised during the radio auction will be directed back to benefit the youth in Caldwell County and Lyon County.
The Princeton Optimist-Kiwanis Club Radio Auction will take place each evening at 6:00 PM, from Monday, June 3 through Friday, June 7. You can tune into the radio auction on WPKY 103.3 FM or 1580 AM each night.
