Caldwell County is managing well amidst regional winter weather challenges, with Emergency Management Director Joey McCaslin reporting favorable road conditions and relatively low power outages compared to some other counties.
McCaslin says that the roads throughout the county are in good condition.

click to download audioRegarding power outages, McCaslin stated that the county’s outage map showed a total of approximately 500 outages on Monday morning, which had decreased to around 400 by mid-afternoon.
click to download audioHe also mentioned that the warming shelter at Butler Gym will stay open overnight and, if necessary, will relocate to the Courthouse on Tuesday.
click to download audioBy mid-afternoon, Pennyrile Electric’s outage map indicated that approximately 290 customers in Caldwell County were without power. Meanwhile, Kenergy’s map showed fewer than 85 outages and less than 50 KU customers were affected in the county.
