Due to the bitter cold temperatures creating a near-record high demand for electricity across the Southeast United States, TVA officials are asking customers to lower power consumption, specifically between 6 a.m. and 10 a.m. Wednesday.
TVA spokesman Scott Fiedler provided ways for residential and business customers to reduce their power consumption.

A Cold Weather Advisory is in effect until 9:00 Wednesday morning for western Kentucky with overnight lows in the single digits and wind chill values below zero.
